DCAD Pride Week

Monday, April 1 –  Queers & Crafts Event

Location: 707 Metz Dining Hall
Time: 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Let’s make memories, celebrate our identities, and promote an overall message of self-acceptance, as we kick off Pride Week with this fun, low stress, and exciting event! Come make your own pride flags, pins, bracelets, and more! 

Tuesday, April 2 – Wear Your Pride Event

Location: 707 Metz Dining Hall

Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Join Student Life and get your face painted! Express yourself, wear your pride, and have fun showing off your unique design! 

Wednesday, April 3 – Scratch Out Seclusion Event

Location: 707 Metz Dining Hall

Time: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Take time to unwind from a busy week and make your own rainbow scratch art.  Enjoy some yummy treats too!

Thursday, April 4 – Joyous Jewelry Event

Location: 707 Metz Dining Hall

Time: 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Come to this evening event and make your own jewelry, pendants, charms, pins, and much more! There will also be a wire wrapping tutorial taking place for anyone interested in learning more about the craft! 

Friday, April 5 – LGBTQ Bingo Event

Location: 707 Metz Dining Hall

Time:  12:45 PM – 1:45 PM (Common Hour)

A classic and highly enjoyable DCAD pastime event! Come to the Metz Dining Hall to play, have fun, and win prizes!! 

Saturday, April 13 – Bright and Bold Ball

Location: DCAD Building 2nd Floor Presentation Area

Time:  6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

You are certainly in for a treat! This event is the grand finale of Pride Week and it’s sure to be a special and magical night! Feel free to dress up or come in casual wear.  The Bright and Bold Ball will be a night of excitement and delight! There will be music, dancing, delicious treats, fun activities, party favors, photo ops, and much more!!!

Accepted Students Day

An event for accepted students to visit DCAD and get to know our campus better.
Highlights of the Day:

  • Learn about our majors from DCAD Faculty
  • Tour our new Student Technology Center
  • Hear from a panel of students & alumni
  • Experiment with screenprinting techniques

Summer Orientation – Session One

DCAD requires new students to participate in a one-day orientation, during which you will:
  • Learn about student life and DCAD’s academic and student support resources
  • Get your DCAD Student ID picture taken
  • Receive your first semester class schedule
  • Complete a brief writing assessment
  • Get your questions answered about move-in, commuting, and other important start-of the year details

Jumpstart will take place this summer on June 29, July 18, and August 8.

Middle School Art and Design Camp

Join us for a fun, deep dive into the worlds of animation, character design, painting, photography, or video. During your week, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills and techniques, explore your creativity, and meet new people with similar interests.

This camp is specifically designed for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. No experience necessary, just a desire to learn and interest in art and design.

During this one-week program, you will have the opportunity to learn what it’s like to study art in higher education, further your creative practice, and discover some of the many career options you can pursue. To help you deepen your studio practice and hone your career interests, DCAD is offering two one-week in-person commuter Summer Studio Immersion programs.
