Overview of Summer JumpstART PLACEMENT TESTING

JumpstART is a required summer introduction for all incoming students to transition to college life. During JumpstART there will be various activities that will provide an opportunity to complete placement testing in a form of a writing sample, receive an introduction to accessing your DCAD email, receive your student ID, gain a better understanding of what being a DCAD student is all about, and learn about the College’s resources and procedures geared toward your success.

The Placement Test is used as an assessment tool to provide us with your core competency overview and assist to determine academic classes you will register for as an incoming student.

It is required for all incoming students to complete the mandatory Academic Placement Test. Each session has 30 available slots. This is a first come first served basis regarding registration. Once a session has reached capacity, it will no longer be available for additional registrants.

Currently, DCAD request that you honor our health & safety protocols regarding wearing a face covering while in public spaces and maintaining 3-6 foot distance.
