What will you do in 2? Apply Today!

Apply via DCAD’s online application or through Common App.

DCAD has no application fee, so either way is easy!

Your portfolio is a critical component of your application and should include 10-15 pieces completed in the last two years. Be sure to include examples of drawing from direct observation as well as art or design work in the media/styles of your choice.

You can submit your portfolio online by uploading images to the DCAD Slideroom or by meeting with a DCAD counselor. To schedule a portfolio review with one of DCAD’s admissions counselors, contact [email protected].

Need help putting your portfolio together? We’re happy to schedule time with you to discuss what’s involved in building a portfolio!

Request transcripts from your high school (or equivalent) and any colleges or universities you have previously attended.

Transcripts can be sent along with your online application or separately via email to [email protected], by mail, or through parchment.com.

Unofficial transcripts are accepted with applications, but a final transcript is required to officially enroll.

DCAD is happy to welcome transfer students from other accredited institutions. We offer transfer students the opportunity to finish their degrees in our supportive environment where they can apply their previous experience to our innovative studios and classrooms.

Interested in transferring to DCAD? Please reach out to Ron Brignac, Academic Dean.

SAT or ACT test scores are not required to apply. DCAD is test-blind and will not consider an applicant’s test scores even if they are submitted.

Request a letter of recommendation from an art teacher, art professional, or someone else who can speak to your artistic abilities and potential.

Letters of recommendation are optional but recommended and can be sent to DCAD by email to [email protected] or via parchment.com
