Continuing Education spring semester begins February 16

This spring, DCAD’s Continuing Education Program invites the community to make, create and exhibit through a vast selection of courses and workshops, highlighted by the opportunity to exhibit coursework during the annual Continuing Education Exhibition scheduled in June. The 12-week Spring Semester will begin February 16, 2015, with a variety of new offerings, including: Abstract Contemporary Painting, Art Journal Workshop, Beginning Animation:  Visual Storytelling Basics, Inspired by Nature: Organic Forms in 2-D & 3-D, Mixed Media Workshop, and Salt Printing Photography.

Immerse yourself in 12 hours of figure drawing, painting or sculpting! DCAD will be hosting its eleventh Drawing Marathon on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 9AM to 9PM. Participants may choose to come for an hour or two, or stay for all 12. DCAD’s Animation Now! Exhibition to showcase animators from across the globe

Featuring the diverse use of techniques including stop motion animation, cut out animation, and digital 2D animation, Animation Now! showcases the breadth and scope of contemporary animation.  Including works that transcend the boundaries between art and entertainment world-wide, Animation Now! features five animation studios, art centers, individuals and/or collectives, who have collaborated to create content for the web, TV, social media, and game development. 

An opening reception will be held Friday, November 7, from 5 - 8 pm, coinciding with Wilmington’s Art Loop.
