Penni is a teaching artist with extensive knowledge and experience in design, visual art and art history. She has taught studio design and design/art history at both DCAD and the University of Delaware and has completed numerous residencies, workshops and projects for schools, community groups and non-profit organizations. She exhibits combined paintings and mixed media pieces in solo and group shows throughout the mid-Atlantic region and has examples of her work in several private collections. Penni recently conducted an action research project entitled, "An Investigation of Interactive Dialogue-based Instruction for Undergraduate Art History." While at DCAD, she continues to explore innovative alternatives to traditional teaching methods in the liberal arts.
