Penni Gioffre is a teaching artist with extensive knowledge and experience in design, visual art, and art history. She has taught studio design and design/art history at both DCAD and the University of Delaware and has completed numerous residencies, workshops and projects for K-12 schools, community groups, health & wellness centers, and non-profit organizations. She is a member of the International Society for Education through Art and the Association for Contemplative Mind in Higher Education. An advocate of educational innovation, she likes to explore alternatives to traditional teaching methods in the liberal arts. Her interests include the application of trends in neuroscience and positive psychology to classroom instruction, and the integration of contemplative practice with teaching and learning. Current courses: Art History II, Art History III, Digital Dialogues, and the Sensational Sixties & Seventies.
